Feb 5, 2018 - I was trying to build a new machine for my demo purposes and wanted to install everything possible related to Data. SQL Server Data Tools. I am attempting to install SSDT v15.6.0 into an existing Visual Studio Team Explorer 2017 instance. When I run the SSDT installer, I can select Visual Studio Team Explorer 2017 from this list of existing Visual Studio instances. If I do not choose a any options (other than the required SQL Server Database option). The installation completes successfully. Photoshop shortcut keys chart. If I however attempt to pick any/all of the other options the installation fails. From looking at the log files, it appears that the installation of the VSIX is failing due to a required component missing. Below is the snippet of the SSDT-Setup installation log file which indicates that the VSIX failed to install. The project template for SSIS packages is missing so I installed SSDT,taking the installer from here This installed successfully, however there is still no template for SSIS projects and attempting to open an existing VS2012/2015 SSIS projects results in an error. So I started to look around and from what I can see VS 2017 does not yet support SSIS projects, is that right? Or am I missing something? I came across this Which to me indicates SSAS and SSRS are supported via extensions but not SSIS. Please say I'm missing something. Probably because the latest SQL 2017 CTP version doesn't support SSIS yet either (due in the next month or 2 I think?). It'll come; my personal guess is when SSIS is available for SQL 2017.
